29th & 30th June

Sorry for the absence, but I was busy working on the boat last night and the phone signal was very poor.
Wednesday 28th June, we left our mooring at Foulridge Wharf and headed north towards Barnoldswick, at the marina there, we pulled in and bought diesel and oil filters, for our engines.
We continued on to the three locks at Greenberfield, that started the descent from the summit, lowering us 29'. The canal twisted and turned around the hills and valleys another eight locks into Gargrave were we stopped for the night.
11 locks, 10 miles.
Thursday 30th June. Off we went to finish off the three locks. Now tackling the new problem, swing bridges!! by the end of the day we will have past through fourteen of them.
Skipton came and went, we moored up were we could get in, just before Stockbridge.
Leeds 17.5 miles.
3 locks, 14 miles.

hi john
What did you think of Skipton? Last time we were there we thought it was a nice place but that was many years ago. The canal at Skipton always looks nice in the photos.
Hope that you are enjoying the tennis.
