27th June

Today's forecast to be a very hot day.
We left the mooring early at 8.05 a.m. cruised for four miles through Blackburn to get to the bottom of the Blackburn Locks, a total of six locks, all a tight fit for a sixty foot boat.
With the sun shinning it was extremely hot.
After a short distance we stopped to shop at Asda, at the side of the canal.
Leaving Blackburn we cruised on, passing amazing views.
We passed this impressive building, Daiseyfield Mill.
The canal clung to the side of the hills and we were looking over a large deep valley, for many miles we followed the side of the valley to come around to the other side.
At Church we passed through thee swing bridges, that although they looked new it took three of us to swing them.
We passed this herd of horses with their young.
This man was asleep on the towpath, if you look on his shoulder you will see a parot, yes it was a live one.
Moored up at Hapton, just as it started to drizzle with rain.
Miles 19, locks 6.

Hi John & Jo
Still following you each day and enjoying your exploits but Tucker has had a bad tummy and has not managed to leave a comment till now. He sends his love to the girls.
Are you sure the Parrot was real and not stuffed, looked supicious to me!!!
June says can you send her a picture of your curtains as she wants to see how you have fitted them as she doesn't want hers to be behind a bar at the bottom. You know how particular women are!!
Well spotted with my letter to Canal Boat, but I did not send it in to be printed merely to tell them how useful it had been. i had not had an acknowledgment to my email so did not know it was in the July issue until Carolann mentioned it in her text.
All the very best and keep the blog going.

Hi Bob June & Tucker,
The parrot seemed to be alive, as after I took the photo the man staggered up and the parrot flapped it's wings.
Yes I'll send some photos of the curtains for June. Best wishes John.
