26th June

Sorry about the short post yesterday, but I was late getting to it and I wanted to get to bed.
Some pics. from yesterday.

A very early start 8.15 a.m., a hot start. Cruised for 9.5 miles at a good rate, no bother with shallow water and nice and wide. We did have to overtake a couple of hire boats, that were meandering along slowly, but otherwise no other boat traffic. We did pass a lot of fishermen who were setting up for a match, just before we got to the Johnson Hill locks at Botany Bay we passed a narrowboat that was made to replicate a submarine called U-8047.
We arrived at the locks 11.10 a.m. No waiting moved in to the bottom locks and off we went, up all seven. The locks climbed a total of sixty five feet, bringing us a total of over 350 feet above sea level.
Cruised on for three miles and moored up, in a very nice spot. We had lunch at the Boatyard inn, and very nice it was too.
back to the boats and had tea.
12 miles, 7 locks.
