Autumn Years in the cutting before Lancaster.
Going over the Lune Aqueduct.
Views of Morecambe Bay.
Strange disc shaped lenticular clouds!

The last bridge and entrance to Tewitfield.
Mooring up.
Set off today aiming getting to the end of the Lancaster Canal at Tewitfield, 14 miles away.
A cool but bright start, we soon arrived at Lancaster. A very smart city, with no derelict or run down areas, a clean well surfaced towpath, lots of moorings with rings and the shops etc. well signposted. But we are not stopping until our return trip.
Traveled over the Lune Aqueduct, after bridge 115 we had our first glimpse of the sea, well we would have but the sea was out, so all we could see was the mud. At Hest Bank we had further views of Morecambe Bay between the house roofs and trees.
On we went, passing through Carnforth, it looks like they have some good shops here, but they will have to wait too.
At 1.30 pm. we arrived at Tewitfield, winded and moored up for the night. Tea and cakes were served on the picnic table near the boat. Celebrated the arrival at the furthest point we can go north on the canals.
Carolann, Graham and me (Jo had just walked the dogs on the last mile of the cruise, so rested) went on a walk to explore the stretch of the "to be restored" part of the canal. Because the A6070 and M6 road has been built over the canal, It will be difficult. However the eight locks that lift the canal 75 feet all within about half a mile, all looked solid except for the gates and most of the paddle gear were missing.
14 miles, 5 hours.
