25th April

Easter Monday.
Yesterdays picture of us at Paddy's Wood.
We set off at 8.45 a.m. heading for "Heartbreak Hill", the water was very low and we were touching the bottom most of the way.
Past through Wheelock, dumping the rubbish at the skips and then on to the first locks, rose to the top of the lock and found the pound very low. Jo & Carolann went to the next locks up and let two locks full of water down. This enabled us to float out to the next lock. They then followed twelve more locks, in four miles.
The weather had changed, to what is the usual over the last two weeks, Hot and sunny.
We moored up after bridge 139.
Beautiful views all round.
5.5 miles, 13 locks, 3.25 hours.
On this day in 1859 the building of the Suez canal commenced.
