24th April

Easter Sunday, left the mooring at Middlewich, to cruise south, toward the Macclesfield canal.
It was very busy, we had boats in front of us and two boats immediately behind us. After the first three locks, we picked up two hire boats in front as we passed the Middlewich Branch before Kings lock. One of them pulled over at the top of the lock.

We then sailed on into a fishing match! We were told by a boat approaching, that there was over seventy of them.

Four miles and four locks later, we moored just south of Rookery Railway bridge.

We were invited on to Autumn Years for Easter drinks, then we had lunch.

The weather improved, with the sun coming out in a clear blue sky.

Tea was served on the bank with Easter cake.

5 miles, 8 locks, 4.5 hours.
