Blowing a gale and raining, first thing. The forecast said it would stop raining around 9 a.m.
We set off at 8.30 a.m. and sailed into the first lock, it stopped raining as we moved on to the second and third locks. It was a bit of a battle with the wind, but it did calm down for a bit.
At Wrenbury I had to leave the boat to operate a lift bridge, this ones on a busy road and is operated by a BW key and is powered electrically. Oh the power!! I managed to hold up several cars, three vans, a bus and a man on a bike. Jo managed to steer Acen, through the small bridge hole and pull in to the side to collect me after I had restored the bridge to it usual position. Seven more locks and a staircase of three before we moored up at Grindley Brook at 2.30 p.m.
13 locks, 11 miles, 6 hour.
