The weather forecast was very poor for today, very strong winds but warm.
We set of at 9.00 a.m. all kitted out in preparation for bad weather. After we had passed under the first bridge, we had to make a sharp left turn into the Hurleston locks, on the Llangollen Canal. A set of four locks, that were already getting busy. At the top we filled both boats water tanks and had a cup of coffee each. We did a further two locks and a bit of cruising and decided the wind was far to strong and not worth struggling against, so we moored up after bridge 13 on mooring rings, at 12.00 noon. Had lunch walked the dogs and Jo cut my hair and baked some cakes.
3 Hours, 6 Locks, 3.5 miles.
Did you know, that on this day in 1939, Britain and France issued guarantees, that if Poland is invaded by Germany, they will declare war?
