You can see the blue skies on most of the picture so far, well not today, it's been a cloudy, damp and cold day, Top temperature today 10c.
Started off at the usual 8.30 a.m., from just north of Penkridge, stopped after the first lock in the village to buy papers & milk, feeling the cold now, and on to the final lock at Gailey and topped the boats up with water and had a coffee.
Cruised to The Fox & Anchor Inn at Cross Green (beginning to get very cold now), and had lunch. On now, twisting and turning on the final 3 miles of the Staffs. & Worcester Canal, turned on to the Shropshire Union Canal at Authley Junction, then on a further 3 miles to between bridge 7 & 8, to tie up for the night.
8 Locks, 12 Miles, 7 Hours.
Did you know, that on this day in 1973 women were allowed on the floor of the London Stock Exchange.
