25th March

Started off 8.20 a.m. from Brindley Bank. As all of the week, so far, bright sunshine and warm weather and it lasted all day. Two locks up to Great Haywood, where we were lucky to get strait into the water point. Graham filled Autumn Years water tank first, we breasted up and Carolann made coffee for us all, while we waited for both boats filled there tanks with water. We reversed off at 11.00 a.m., winded and turned on to the Staffs & Worcester canal. Passed trough Tixall Wide, only a few boats there, on to Baswich, Acton Trussell, and moored just before Penkeridge. As with all this trip, we have been surprised just how many boats are out on the cut.
14 miles, 7 Locks, 6.2 Hours .
Did you know, that on this day in 1843, the first pedestrian tunnel under the river Thames, was opened?
It has come to my attention that some one has noticed my deliberate mistake on yesterdays blog (incorrectly naming Graham & Carolann's boat Autmn Dreams instead of Autumn Years) Unfortunately as per the rules in my previous blog, see blog REST DAY you will see that you have to wait until the appropriate time.
