The weather forecast for today was, threatening heavy rain.
So we set of early 8.30 a.m. whilst it was still good and bright, we could see the dark heavy clouds in the distance, and thought they would bring us rain soon, but it turned out to be a nice and some times hot day, with only a few small showers. As yesterday, we were passing some amazing views. We had just two locks today, we had a bit of trouble with the bottom of the canal being a bit high, an usually at a bridge hole, which made maneuvering a bit difficult. We passed the entrance of the Montgomery Canal (we may go d0wn there on the way back) and cruised on, two locks at New Martin, Jo had a call from Tim and Amelia with best wishes on "Mothering Sunday". We moored up at Chirk, Graham and I walked to see if the local pub " The Bridge Inn" had room for us for lunch, they did so we booked it and returned with Jo and Carolann for a very good , reasonable lunch, followed by coffee on Autumn Years.
9 miles, 2 locks, 5.75 hours
Did you now on this day in 1922 Stalin became General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union?
