3rd July

Left our mooring and sailed into the Newlay three staircase locks, with the aid of a BW lockie we descended the locks and sailed off to the Forge three staircase locks half a mile away, these we had to do ourselves as the lockie went back to the Newlay locks to help the wide beam that had just come up the Forge locks.
No problem our expert lock wheelers managed in their usual manner.
It was at this point I was looking for my mobile phone and couldn't find it. I got my other phone and rang the phone I was looking for, after a few rings a voice answered it, it sounded I had woken them from a sleep. i asked who he was and were had he got the phone? he said he had bought it on Bradford station last night. I remembered that in the afternoon while we were having tea on the bank, I had hooked the phone in the cratch so we would here it, but I didn't remember taking it down. So someone had got on the boat in the night and taken it.
Well there was no way I was going to get it back. I have reported it to 3mobile, the phone and the sim will be blocked.
We then went on and did six locks and moored in Clarence Dock near the Armouries in Leeds.

Hi Both
It is frightening what can happen when you are asleep. Who would have thought someone could have got on the boat without you feeling it move. It is the same with the pickpockets though you never know they have been in your pocket.
Best wishes to you all.
