8th June

Only 22 miles to get to Liverpool.

Cruised off towards Liverpool, the canal is deep and wide, so with the engine at 1200 rpm. we are moving fast enough.
We had began to notice, the strange amount of coots, with their chicks swimming around, as we progressed they were more and more, passing by a long stretch of reeds there was a family every 20 yards swimming around and more in the reeds tweeting.

The first swing bridge we got to, was disused so we sailed strait through. At the second swing bridge, we could see, as we approached, that there were two men standing by the control panel, the bridge started to open, as we got nearer, the bridge started to close, then the guy facing us pointed out to the guy on the controls, that there was a boat approaching and the bridge opened again. We both then sailed through and moored up for the night.
Coffee was going to be served on the bank, but as we got the chairs out, it started to rain.

6.5 Miles, 1 Swing bridge.

On this day in 1968 The Rolling Stones released "Jomping Jack Flash"
