Beautiful start to the day sunshine and warm.
We all went shopping together at Tesco's in Middlewitch. Returned to the boats packed shopping away and got going for 9.a.m. Cruised to the big lock.
Started peeling off a layer of clothes, as it was quite hot. It was about ten miles to the Anderton Boat Lift, with no locks. 
So we moved on past the fantastic countryside, from deep cuttings, to high embankments, and the flashes, most of the time in warm sunshine. 
Took on water and arrived at the Lift at about 1.30 p.m. Called in at the office and we were told that we could go down, on the Lift at 2.5o p.m.
