8.30 a.m. went off to the shops in Market Drayton, Homebase for some wood filler and Lidl for food etc. Set off from the mooring at 11.00 a.m. Autumn Years stopped for water, we continued on towards Audlem, the weather was warm and sunny. Reached the Adderley Locks and followed a boat down the 5 locks, Autumn years caught us up and followed us down. After a further 1.3 miles we arrived at the top of the 15 Audlem Locks, we descended 11 of the locks and moored up, by a field that was ideal for the dogs to have a good run.
We were surprised to find that we had moored up behind Bruce and Sheila, on Sanity Again.
We were invited on Autumn Years for a cup of tea, we were then joined by Bruce and Sheila and we all had a good natter and a glass of wine.
16 Locks, 6 miles, 3.25 hours.
Did you know that on this day in 1945 the last "V-1 Doodle bug" of the war landed on Britain?
