Thursday 22nd March.
Stopped on the mooring  all day. A lovely day very hot again, continued cleaning & polishing the boat.

Friday 23rd March.
A very foggy start and it took some time for the sun to show through.

Saturday 24h March.
Moved off in thick fog, to moor between Foxton Village and the locks. Walked up the locks to meet Stephen & Sharon arriving on NB Mutely arriving at the top. We were joined by Denis & Janet (NB Old Peculiar) the six of us had ice creams and a chat.
Stephen was keen to start chopping some of the wood that he had gathered on the trip. Throwing one of the freshly cut wood discs on the grass and flashing his newly purchased axe. With great gusto he swung the axe and chopped into the wood. The shaft of the axe next to the head folded on impact and fell in two! Oh we do wish we had been filming it but then I don't think we could have held the camera still as we all fell about. The cutting/breaking of that wood was finished with the head of the axe and a lump hammer.
We all retired to the Locks Inn for dinner.

Sunday 25th March.
We all assembled at 10 o'clock to assist S & S down the locks.

Monday 26th March
Remained on the mooring at Foxton and enjoyed the hot sun. Drove to M/H and shopped.

Tuesday 27th March

Filled the water tank and sailed to Saddington bends. Mike and Gerry (NB Tubs) and Rita & Clive (NB.Treivalic) were there. Hot, hot sun. Polish, wine, coffee and a chat.

Wednesday 28th March.

Bright and sunny all day. Chairs out wine and a chat all day.

Thursday 29th March.

Clive  and Rita returned to Debdale,
drinks with Mike and Gerry.

Friday 30th March

Dull and chilly start. Moved off to moor before Debdale Marina

Saturday 31st April

Cool start. Moved down to below locks it was very busy and a bit scarce on moorings. Filled up with water opposite the Locks Inn. Asked Sandy if we could moor outside the the Inn, she said of course we could,  over we went.
That night w

Tuesday drove to the Waterfront Restaurant to join with those crews that had over wintered in the basin, for a farewell meal.

Sunday 1st April.
Sharon and Stephen joined us for coffee. Walks up the Locks. Then moved over on to the towpath side opposite the Inn.

Monday 2nd April.

I spent most of the day away from the boat doing jobs needed on houses.

Tuesday 3rd April

Swapped car over last shopping in M/H meat milk & bread. Moved off back to the Smeaton bends ready to meet Mike and Sally on NB October House that are coming up from Kilby Bridge having been held up by the lock closures. Mike was interviewed on BBC East Midlands Today Sunday programme about the lack of water on the canals.
At long last we have some proper rain just as they turned up.
