14th September

Two weeks on and we are still marooned, stuck, restricted to cruising between Debdale and the Harborough Arm, up to Market Harborough. We regularly cruise to Foxton for the weekend, but mostly we are moored in Union Wharf paying for the mooring together with a power hook-up. We are busy catching up with doctors, hair cuts, (I went to the barber in Harborough, this is the first time for over fifty years that Jo hasn't cut it) and the dentist. Darcey has been back to the vets to get her staples removed and the wound has healed well, she just has to wait for the hair to grow, where they shaved around it. While we were there, both dogs had their booster injections and the vet supplied us with their worming tablets, to give them later. I now have a replacement for the phone that was stolen back in the summer.
Today Jo had a doctors appointment at 8.30 am. (annual check up), . we all got up early and I drove Jo to the doctors I went in with her as I wanted to see if I could follow up an invitation, I had received from the doctors in March to have a full check up. Yes was the answer and within 30 mins. I had had the first part completed, blood sample, blood pressure, height, weight and history. The second part is booked for Monday morning, they don't mess about do they. With the Foxton Festival coming up, this weekend we did the shopping packed it in the boat, had lunch, then moved out of  the Wharf and set off to Foxton. After we had moored up we went out to walk the dogs to the locks. As we were climbing the locks, we were passing one of the lock keepers and had a chat and commented that were not allowed to go up the locks, yes you are" he said, you have a mooring north of the locks, we pointed out that it is only our winter mooring, he then queried it with the other lockie, who agreed with him, that yes we would be allowed up!!! Plans are being made now, to go and visit Crick.
