22nd August

Off out to Market Harborough to tax the car, the Town looked deserted, there was hardly anybody about at 9.30 am. There wasn't much of a wait at the post office counter and I soon got back to the boat, where I walked into a group of people waiting outside the restaurant, amongst them was Miles, the gentleman that with his wife Polly look after our girls Purdey & Darcey, when we are away on holidays, and Peter a resident in the basin. They are a group who volunteer to look after the part of the towpath that starts in the basin. They were waiting for the British Waterways man to join them, to instruct them what they were doing today. He didn't turn up! So they disbanded and those that came past the boat stopped and had a tea or coffee with us.
Then Tim called by and drove me to his home, to my car, I then drove back to the boat and we went shopping.
