Woke early, gave the dogs a good run on the island above the lock.
We set sail on the river Ouse, a different river to yesterday's.
This was a delight, the weather helped, today as it is hot and sunny, the river is reminiscent of the Thames, with white cruisers moored along the banks , the occasional willow tree at the bottom of the properties that border most of this stretch.

As we approached York we were on the look out for available moorings, when we arrived at the preferred moorings, they seemed to be full, we circled going back and slowly scanned the spaces, Jo managed to convince two boats to shuffle up and make a space for us. We got in, Autumn Years breasted up with us. Later on one of the boats that we came up from Selby with came by and breasted up on the outside of us.
We went on the open topped tourist bus, on a trip around the sights of York. We then did the shops. The chairs came out on the bank for tea and drinks,
we were entertained by the passing river craft, on a hot and sunny afternoon / evening, we eventually retired to the boats at 11.15 p.m.
A long day and too late for blogging.
5 miles.
