5th June

The boats moored, showing the entrance from the Lancaster Canal.
The top of the staircase locks.
The top chamber of the locks.
The pond that we will reverse into.
The exit Chanel, at the side of the locks, leading towards the Savick Brook & River Ribble.
Oh no, winters back. Yes a cold wet start to the day.
We went over to the water point, filled both boat tanks up with water, and cruised for ten miles to the Basin above the Ribble Link, ready for tomorrow.
Final once over and preparation of the boats.
The pictures above show the staircase locks, that we enter first. We have to reverse into these locks, because when we get to the bottom we have to leave the pond at the bottom pointing the same way as we have just descended the locks and there isn't enough room to wind the boats.
On this day in 1977 the "Apple Two Personal Computer" goes on sale.
