20th June

A clear blue sky, not a cloud in sight and getting hot.
Just too hot to work.
Ordered some diesel to be delivered, the boat turned up a bit late, as he had broken down on the short trip to get here. I wanted both tanks filling, but when he got to the second tank, he ran out of diesel, just before it was full, 114 litres @ .78p p.l. not bad. He did intend to fill up, on his way to me, but because he broke down and had to be dragged by an inflatable that's all he had got. He also gave the boat a pump out.
I wrapped a parcel to send to our daughter Liz, in Canada and went over to W H Smiths to post it. There was a long winding queue waiting waiting at the post office desks, twenty minutes later I got to the desk, to be told that their not accepting any post for Canada, as they are on strike!
Off to Tesco's to pick up milk etc. then I went looking for the restaurant that's in the old police station, it was where I thought it was, I made a note of the route.
Back to the boat for lunch.
I then lifted the weed hatch and removed about four plastic bags that were around the prop and shaft, topped the batteries up with water.
Yet another walk with the dogs along the side of the Mersey, having a sit down on the seats to watch the shipping manoeuvring.
It started to rain at 5 p.m.
