Set off at 9.45. Cruised to Atherstone, did a bit of shopping and looked around the town. After lunch we set off down the locks. At the first set of locks, Jo had lifted the paddles and the boat was descending, when we heard a call for help, Jo ran back dropping the windlass as she ran. When she returned apparently a lady on a boat approaching the locks had missed the bank and had fallen in, her husband was unable to get her out on his own, (hence the call for help) and Jo had to help him lift her out, not an easy task as she was a large lady.
Back to locking, we moored up after lock 9 leaving 2 locks to finish the flight tomorrow.
4 Miles, 9 Locks, 4 Hours.
