18th June

A bright warm blue sky start to the day.
I went into town for the paper, I found the big Tesco store, that's nearby, that we hadn't found until today. I could then buy the things that I couldn't find in the smaller stores.
I turned the boat around on the mooring, to put the stern out into the dock, so that I could sand and varnish the engine room, without having to pass through it, to leave the boat.
This all took me until lunch time to prepare it.
Had lunch.
Then I varnished it all.
We took the dogs for a walk, to the far end of the docks, walking by the side of the Mersey, it was very interesting. Being Saturday there was a lot of sailing boats out on the river, there was the usual stiff breeze to make it exciting. When we got right to the far end, we were at the entrance lock from the river, were the boats were returning to the marina, we stopped for a while to see the boats and crews comming through.
Returned back to the boat, being a very warm day with sun shinning into the back of the boat I was able to put another coat of varnish on at 6.30 p.m.
The crowds of visitors/tourists arriving all the time, on coaches from all over, were keeping the Duck boats and the big wheel busy, plus this is the place to be for the performances of the visiting stars and the cinema.
