Glasson top lock
Another nice start to the day, sunshine but a little windy.
Filled both boats diesel tanks, 90p. p.l.
Then set off to do the six locks of the Glasson Arm and on to the Lancaster canal, to Garston.
After the first lock, we could see that the pound above was very low, when we sailed in to it we were marooned on the bottom. We had to wait for the ladies, to get to the next lock and lift the paddles, to let some water down to float us off. It didn't take too long to do that, as it was a short pound. The other locks had problems of some sort, bar the sixth and final one.
The Lancaster Canal was a lot busier now, being the week after the bank holiday.
Arrived at Garstang 3.15p.m. We found one long mooring with a small cruiser moored in the middle, fortunately it was just about to move off, so we waited and moved in to moor up.
We had the usual tea meeting and decided that we would catch a bus tomorrow to Blackpool, Graham and I went into Garstang to see what time the buses are.
Weather still good and promises to improve.
On this day in 1911 The Titanic was launched.
