A foggy damp & cold start to the day.
We left our mooring in Norbury at 9.00 a.m. and set off north towards Market Drayton 13 miles and 5 locks away. Probably the most variant and interesting of the trip so far, from deep cuttings to high elevation embankments, with the trees without leaves it made it so easy to see the surrounding views.
By 12 it seemed that the clouds were beginning to glow like it wouldn't be long before the sun shone, around 1.00 p.m. it came out, and we stripped off all the cold weather clothes, in time to do the 5 locks at Tyrley, another mile and we were mooring at Market Drayton, behind Bruce and Sheila on "N.B.Sanity Again". We had a long chat, as you do! We have been invited on Sanity Again for drinks tonight, together with Carolann and Graham.
5 locks, 13 miles, 5 hours.
Did you know that Virginia Woolf died on this day in 1941
