30th July 2007

Our plans this year were to cruise down the Grand Union canal, spend a few days in Paddington Basin, shopping & resting, cruise to Lime House and out on to the tidal Thames and on to Teddington, with the intention of spending five to six weeks cruising the Thames going to Oxford & back to Debdale.
However, all plans were changed with the English summer weather not delivering. We have been very fortunate in as much as we have had more than our fare share of the sun and have had less than our share of the rain. Most of the monsoon rain has been either at night or when we were stationary and inside.
By the time we had arrived at Lime House it was obvious that there was no chance of doing the Thames above Teddington or going on to Oxford etc. We decided to do the tidal bit and come in at Brentford, up to Bulls Bridge and back to Paddington where we are at the moment pulling in two stage shows, walking every where and shopping. We shall start our journey back up the Grand Union tomorrow 31st July.
